Our programs are specifically designed to provide the highest standard of professional breeding.  We are a small family business and are fortunate to provide for our dogs , small acreage to run around every day and freely explore, play and laze on the verandah or under a tree.

Four generations of Higgins provide input into the development of our Groodles and Cavoodles, enriching the quality of life and keeping the outstanding genetics of health, temperament, intelligence and proven hypoallergenic/shed free dogs and puppies.

All these traits come down through bloodlines. For respect of our own dog’s health and well-being, we work towards maintaining this and passing it onto you.

The first stage of our program is to ensure the health of our Dames and Sires. All matings are planned along with resting.

Our Dames and Sires are all full breed and DNA profiled including genetically screened and cleared with Orivet. Our dogs are also vet checked, hip and elbow clear. Only when they’re at their fittest can they be considered.

All our loved fur family members have a balanced nutritional diet of Royal Canin and a variety of fresh food and bones with many a treat in between.

When our Dames are in pup, their diet is increased and varied to accommodate her condition. Along with regular exercise, vet check-ups, monitoring 24/7 and extra massage for the special lassie.

The Pups are born into a peaceful country environment and like Mum, monitored 24/7, well cared for in a clean and calm environment.

Day 3-16 their senses will form and they undergo a series of exercises for early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction (ESI). This will be a start of making for a more well-centered, resilient, confident and healthy dog.

Day 14 they start worming treatment and continue every 2weeks until 12 weeks and then monthly after that.

At 3-4 weeks, they’re up and walking becoming more independent each day. Toilet training outside begins with a push through the doggy door and chew toys are aplenty for their new teeth. They start more outdoor activities enjoying the grounds enhancing their senses, physical development and socialization. This all Increases gradually and positively for the pup over the next 8 weeks.

4-8 weeks. In conjunction with starting obedience training and reactive conditioning, play is one of our biggest tools we used to teach pups in a positive manner.  Our curriculum continuously has our puppies engaging in first time experiences and becoming familiarized with being a family member. We use common sights, sounds, smells and touch from typical situations and environment e.g. other dogs and animals, all ages of human, home appliances, vet visit, grooming, cars, machinery Use of collar and lead. Retained eye contact, reactive control and basic commands sit, drop and recall.

Grooming is introduced at this stage by Grandpa and Grandma Higgins. They both have over 10 years of professional grooming under their belt and a boutique salon on wheels. The pups experience the new smells, sounds of clippers and blow dryer. They will get a little wash, blow dry and lots and lots of good boys and girls.

Time for Mum and pups to visit our local and well trusted vet. For the pups, it’s their first visit for physical examination from nose to tail, C3 vaccination and microchip. Great opportunity to learn about cars and socializing with keen vet nurses that definitely show them how to receive overwhelming and excited people.

8-12 weeks Another exciting vet checkup and C4 vaccination.

At this stage the little one’s personalities are booming. As we are small team and work with them hands on daily, this is a very busy time for us closely observing and assessing individually what types of personalities are developing.

We can then establish what kind of family and environment they’re best suited for. The puppies as ready as can be and now we look for responsible owners and their perfect match.
